Calling Wyngate Home

Wyngate is a phenomenal neighborhood that neighbors describe as warm and very, family friendly. While the neighborhood has long been a target of developers, there is still a good mix of smaller renovated homes in either their original or slightly expanded footprint that provide entry into the neighborhood at a far lower price point. Many buyers enter the neighborhood at these lower price points, fall in love with it, and then trade up as their needs evolve versus moving elsewhere. Homes in Wyngate, which feeds into Walter Johnson High School (ranked 9th out of 263 high schools in MD according to US New & World Report) tend to run about 10% less than their counterparts in nearby Bethesda neighborhoods that feed into Walt Whitman High School (ranked 3rd on the same list). For many, the combination of a convenient, inside the Beltway location, plus one of best school clusters in the state at a significantly lower price point is a winning combination.

History

The Wyngate neighborhood has been one of the more dynamic Bethesda neighborhoods over the last two decades. Developers have flocked to the neighborhood during that time to transform the housing stock that was originally built as smaller ranchers, ramblers, colonials and split level homes in the 1940's and 1950's into 4,000-6,000 new construction homes largely in Craftsman, Colonial or, more recently, Modern Farmhouse styled homes.

Architecture

Mix of smaller ramblers, ranchers, colonials and split levels built in the 1940's and 1950's- many of which have been renovated and expanded upon over time- and new construction homes built since 2000 with significantly larger square footage (4,000-6,000 sq ft).
